Before, after and how they became.

Josie

When Josie was rescued she suffered from mange that had ravaged 80% of her coat. But Josie's adopter recognized the beautiful spirit this pup had and was dedicated to Josie's recovery - as you can see from the picture of Josie at 2 years old, it was a very successful recovery indeed!
Josie's Mom developed a pet care product line - dog shampoos, bug repellants etc, using the information she gathered during Josie's development!

Theo
When Theo was rescued (he was abandoned at the roadside) volunteers guessed his age to be about 3 months old due to his size.....he was actually only SEVEN WEEKS! Theo is now the largest ARF dog to date, weighing in at a healthy 135lbs and his adopters couldn't be happier- they wanted a large dog and love that they adopted an XXlg breed! They have since adopted an adult xlg mix as a companion for Theo.

Tyra
Tyra was a rural pound rescue at only three weeks old. Half of her litter didn't survive due to their deteriorating health but thankfully Tyra was determined to live! She grew into an active happy dog!
A note from Tyra's adopters:
"Tyra has grown into a very happy lady; we're very lucky to have been able to share our home with her!"
Oscar
Oscar was rescued at 8 wks of age. Speculations on his breed mix included: rotti-shepherd-lab-hound, perhaps medium sized.
Here's a note from Oscar's adopter:
"Oscar ended up QUITE different from his puppy 'look' and my (visual) expectations. He is now some sort of collie- Aussie - Shep -golden retriever? And to think I imagined a big rotti when he was a pup!   Oscar is the best thing that ever happened to me, (excepting my husband, who came later!) I would have loved Oscar the same if he turned out to be 10 lbs, or 150 - A dog is what you make him. "
Ellie
There were many guesses as to ELLIE's breed mix : lab?collie?bouvier? But she was rescued as an orphan at only a few days old so all we really know is she's one of a kind!
A note from Ellie's adopters -
"We adopted Ellie on August 24, 2003 when she was 7 weeks old. She is the joy of our lives, extremely affectionate, intelligent and loves people, children and other dogs, loves her walks, and loves to play catch with her ball. Her favorite thing is the water - the pool and the hose. She has a huge fluffy tail and collie pants and gets compliments on her beauty from everyone she meets. She has become a wonderful, devoted, loving pet who enriches our lives more and more everyday."
Liam
Liam's husky/terrier look was quickly replaced by a beautiful caramel coat and unique markings as he matured. Liam is an active intelligent boy who is much loved by his terrific adoptive family.

Xena

Xena is enjoying her home-life immensely!

She loves to go for long walks & is very smart! Xena interacts well with other dogs, as long as they don't object to her excessive puppy bouncy-ness. Her current weight (shown) is around 40 pounds, but that will probably change again by tomorrow, (her best buddy seems to be her food bowl)! Xena's appearance has certainly changed over the past few months! Her all-over light brown coat has been pretty well replaced with traditional Sheppard colouring.

"She's a beautiful and happy puppy, and we want to thank both of you so much for bringing her into our lives. She's a real joy!"
