PROJECT GIVE BACK

Lauren, a grade four student in Toronto, was assigned a project through her school's "Project Give Back".
Lauren said she chose to teach her class about ARF because "I think all animals deserve a home."
Lauren made paws for her classmates and the students all wrote messages to ARF.

Ashley Turns 8 and ARF thinks
that's GREAT!

Ashley Wilkinson recently celebrated her birthday. Instead of gifts for herself, Ashley asked for dog and cat supplies so that she could donate them to ARF.
Ashley delivered the donations (with the help of her mom and dad) to the Children's Museum during the puppy meet and greet and got to have some puppy snuggles with ARF puppy Blossum.
All the puppies and kitties say "Happy Birthday Ashley"!
 Abbey's Caring Creativity!

Abbey wanted to help out the puppies and kitties at ARF so came up with a creative way to do so. She made bracelets and sold them to family and friends and raised $200!!
After going shopping with the money, she came to the Children's Museum with an AWESOME donation of supplies for ARF!
All the animals appreciate your hard work Abbey!
 Sophia visits ARF!

Although Sophia is only 6 years old,
she was very happy to ask for ARF donations (from our wishlist) as her Birthday gifts!!
This is Sophia's second year making this request of her friends!
Thanks so much to Sophia for bringing wonderful donated items for the rescued puppies and kitties!!

Liam Rocks!

Liam came to visit ARF at the Children's Museum at Christmas time.
He brought awesome donations including blankets, stuffed toys, kitty scratch pad and canned food!
We heart you Liam on behalf of the rescued puppies and kitties!!
 Christmas came early for ARF!

So quite a while back, ARF got a volunteer app from a teenager who is the student of one of our ARF adopters and failed foster homes :) He has Asperger's Syndrome, and is very keen on animals and building.
He is the young man responsible for about half of the dogs on our local First Nation Communities having nice big doghouses! He is also the one who found, re-built and donated 2 dog houses at the ARF Park, including "The Mansion."
His parents do not have much, but animals are their world and they always do whatever they can for ARF, including driving way outside of London with a trailer and picking up doghouses advertised for free on kijiji and dropping them off at my house.

So a while back, you may remember that The Strathroy Area Buy & Swap Group FB page held an auction where they chose 2 charities to donate 100% of the proceeds to - ARF being one of the lucky recipients. Well I got a phone call today from somebody in a noisy truck - couldn't really make out the name or who it was - but I heard "ARF" and "lots of donations" so I said, "Come on over!"

So what to my wondrous eyes did appear but a big diesel truck with a trailer of full of goodies for the ARF volunteers! The truck interior, the truck bed, and the trailer all filled with treasures for ARF. 3 doghouse - small, medium and large. Bails of straw for bedding.

Blankets galore (all new.) FIFTY ONE BOXES of scoopable kitty litter from Costco. Toys for the pups, TONS of baby food,

Canadian Tire money...and $500 put on the ARF account at Strath.
Not only that, the mother (of the son who stayed up all night repairing the doghouses) asked me what else we needed for the dogs on our local First Nations communities and asked us to send her a wish-list!!

Newest ARFling Volunteer!

Meghan donates her time at the Children's Museum and other ARF events as a puppy handler. She is attentive to her puppy, introducing it to families and making sure it goes outside for breaks.
This past summer, she donated to Nascar's fund and brought him a puppy Kong and collar:)
Meghan collected over $8.00 in Canadian Tire money that goes towards purchasing kitty litter and canned food.
She baked home made dog treats for us to sell at our ARF Calendar Launch!
And, at the December CM Meet & Greet, Meghan donated dog toys and $30 cash as her Christmas present to all the ARF rescued puppies!!
Meghan is a true friend of rescued puppies and ARF is lucky to have her as their newest ARFling!
Thanks so much Meghan!!
