Handsome boy King is looking to charm you! Prior to joining the ARF crew he lived only outside, so has had to transition into an indoor life with new things like tile floors and stairs. King is coming along really well with this and will continue to improve as he ups his comfort level. Lots of positive praise and treats lets him know that new things are good things. He sleeps in the master bedroom at night and naps in a restricted area of the house when on his own in the day.

King lives with his foster mom and absolutely enjoys human contact! He is very friendly when greeting visitors to the home and appreciates attention. He has learned to run and fetch a ball. Squeaky toys are a great source of fun and he loves to walk with them in his mouth all around the house. King enjoys his many outings and is comfortable on an Easy-Walk© harness. He is ok when seeing other dogs at a distance, but slow introductions would be needed if he were to meet dog friends up close, which is something that his foster mom is working toward. Another dog with a similar athletic play style and whom he could take time to get to know, might be very nice for King. Otherwise he could be the only animal in the household and be quite happy snuggling up to his humans. King has not met any cats, so it is unknown what he might think of them.

We recommend that King’s forever home have a fenced yard for him to run and play in, and to keep him safe. An active family who likes daily walks with King is his ideal wish. Because King loves people, but can at times be a fairly energetic fellow, we think he would do best with an all-adult family or one with older children.
