Playful and pretty girl Poppy is living in foster care with adults, a teenager and 2 resident cats. She is an awesome roommate as she is house trained and sleeps well through the night. Poppy does not use a crate, and instead snoozes in a separate room, either through the night or when her people go out for short periods. This gal loves her walks and has enjoyed meeting people along the way, but has not had the opportunity to meet other dogs yet. Even though she currently lives with 2 felines, they are kept separate so it’s likely that Poppy would do best in a home without other critters. Her foster family describes Poppy as “an absolute sweetheart, very affectionate and playful.”

Poppy came into ARF’s care because she had a hip injury and needed surgery to fix this. She came through the surgery like a champ and is progressing each and every day. Poppy is walking now with some confidence, and so an adoptive family will need to support her exercise regime so that she continues to build strength and increase endurance. It would be wonderful for Poppy to have her own fenced yard, but as long as her forever family is dedicated to taking her for multiple daily walks, then she would do well in any type of home. Outside, she loves to play and run, but inside Poppy is calm and a bit of a couch potato. Because Poppy is a large dog and can be a bit clumsy at times, it would be best if any children in her adoptive home were old enough to be sturdy on their feet.
