We adopted ‘Hopscotch’, now known as Bellatrix (Bellie for short), 7 years ago. She is more dog-like than feline, and an incredible character. She has turned many avowed cat-haters around with her comical antics and sweet, devilish personality. Growing up with 2 dogs and another cat has only encouraged her rather unique character. She fetches her ball to be thrown again and again and again. In her youth, she could jump close to 5 feet to snag the ball in mid-air! Hide-and-seek is also a favourite past-time for Bellatrix. Usually, when we aren’t able to “seek”, she loves to hide just around the corner, pouncing on the unsuspecting, then sitting just off to the side innocently licking a paw (and looking about 3 months old) as though she had nothing to do with the aforementioned ambush.
Thank you to ARF for realizing that a 19 year old single girl can be the best possible mum for this amazing kitten, and allowing these two unique characters to find a life together. Both have grown and flourished thanks to this bond, and honestly, I think both Bellie and my daughter would have missed out on an amazing trip if they weren’t allowed to be together.
